FoEhints: Oceanic Future in Forge of Empires

The Oceanic Future is the 16th era in Forge of Empires. It has been added to the game in 6 parts spread over one year.

The Oceanic Future has a huge number of very attractively designed buildings, which I didn't use much. Due to my Innovation Tower I don't need residential buildings. Due to my Alcatraz I don't need much happiness from cultural buildings. I have enough supplies and I only use the production buildings to occasionally complete event quests. 3 great buildings have been added:

The Atlantis Museum might have been designed because of the fact that the Oceanic Future requires so many goods. But most players in the Oceanic Future already have other great buildings delivering the required number of unrefined goods. And encouraging neighbors to plunder more often by occasionally doubling their bounty makes many players angry.

The Blue Galaxy instead doubles the number of resources collected from a production or event building. If you specifically use it with a World Fair this can be the most profitable building in the game. Therefore this building is very popular among players, not only those who already reached the Oceanic Future.

The Kraken is the great building that I constructed. It makes my weekly guild expeditions so much easier and faster. Eliminating one opponent unit at the very beginning of the battle against wave 1 is extremely comfortable. I proved in my videos about the guild expedition of the Oceanic Future that it is possible to complete it without the Kraken. But in the weekly routine this effect saves a lot of time.

Never before I spent as much time in a single Era as in the Oceanic Future. In previous ages there occasionally was some motivation to stay a bit longer, but you were able tu rush through it if you wanted. This worked pretty well if you already traded all required goods before entering the new era. Due to Promethium this no longer was possible in the Arctic Future already. Orichalcum now limits the development speed the same way in the Oceanic Future to the speed your Ocean terminal can produce more Orichalcum.

The research of the new 55 technologies of the Oceanic Future alone requires 9.666 forge points. As I collect far more than 200 forge points every day this was the smallest challenge. The many goods required for the new technologies are heavy, but this is also manageable. Players in the Oceanic Future have a town which is so advanced that this number of goods is no longer a challenge.

24.430 goods are required to release all new technologies. On top you will need 150 goods every day during a time span of 3 months to produce the required 8.590 Orichalcum in the Ocean Terminal. This huge requirement of goods demonstrates the challenge that is waiting for players in the Oceanic Future.

As the Arctic Future before, the Oceanic Future again has a harbor, designed as a Terminal for submarines. The usage is exactly the same. But you will not only need the Orichalcum instead of Promethium. You will need it on top. Many technologies of the Oceanic Future also require a total of 6,840 Promethium. You will need some 10,000 goods of the Arctic Future to produce this.

For a long time in the Oceanic Future I had 3 goods production buildings of the Oceanic Future. On top I received a lot of goods from event buildings. Occasionally I also used terrace farms to deliver goods. As event buildings are getting stronger more and more the goods demand of the Oceanic Future will be much easier to handle in the future.

Those players who want to negotiate the provinces of the Oceanic Future, should calculate to use additional 95,000 goods and on top Promethium and Orichalcum, as the number of sectors in the 80 provinces of these 6 regions is huge. Often it takes more than a day to scout the next province. If you don't want to use 50 diamonds for scouting often, the scouting alone will take more than 3 months.

But fighting the provinces wasn't difficult. I simply used a standard team of 2 Hydoelectric Eels, 2 Turturrets ans 4 Plasma Artillery. The Plasma Artillery I use because of the many stealth units the computer uses. The eels have the task to take care of the flying units. The Turturrets have been added because they are great units and I wanted to benefit from this. I should mention that at this time of the game I had 200% attack bonus and 100% defense bonus. This is not very much for a player in the Oceanic Future. Many other players already have the Terracotta Army of the Virtual Future and as a result a much better defense bonus. This defense bonus makes a real difference while 20% more attack bonus are not important.

The computer's fighting bonus is in the moderate range of 20% to 40%. Especially the first provinces often use units from previous ages.

The guild expedition of the Oceanic Future is covered detailled in 4 other videos in this channel.

After so many months in the Oceanic Future, I am now happy to advance to the Virtual Future.
