At a Westminster Hall debate on Typhoon fighter sovereign capability, Cameron congratulates his friend Ryan on the pilot's progress within the Typhoon training pipeline.

He asks whether the Typhoon program features in the government's plans for economic growth, and whether deals with European allies could deliver the UK access to the European Union's €150bn SAFE fund.

Cameron states that any increase in RAF capability must come with the necessary extension of those supporting forces, with engineering forces desperately stretched already. He further asks the government what it is doing to shorten the training pipeline for RAF pilots.

He recognises Gloucestershire's aerospace manufacturing heritage and credits constituents working at GE Aerospace, for their development of cockpit displays and fuel systems, crucial to the Typhoon program.
