This collection of Three Saudades "brasileiras" (Editions Musicales Hortensia, Paris) , dates back to 1980 . It is a deeply inspired trio of compositions dedicated to brasilian sound and moods. Here we can clearly see the Mastery of Dyens in transferring into his harmonies and rythm all the moods and the feelings raised by his early journey to Brasil in 1979,
Roland visited Villa Lobos museum in Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and was so lucky to meet the widow of Heitor Villa Lobos : Arminda ( I put some photos in the videos of her close to Segovia and Heitor Villa Lobos).
Roland recounted to me that he was so much impressed by that meeting and visit ... that he started thinking about a special piece to be dedicated to Heitor and Arminda. We all know the GREAT composition Hommage a Villa lobos (1987), the later concert for guitar and small Orchestra : Hommage a Villa Lobos.... therefore the SAUDADE n° 2 was the earlier piece dedicated to Heitor's wife : "Mindinha" Villa Lobos.

SAUDADE N° 2 (2,55-6,15) Dedicated to Arminda Villa Lobos (1912-1985 Mindinha)
SAUDADE N° 3 (6,17) : Dedicated to Roland's great friend Francis Kleynjans - the great French guitarist and composer.
