Hike

Although the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains front range are just outside of the city, they are often overlooked for hiking. Much more popular options are accessible farther up and off of mountain roads. Although I have been hiking these mountains for decades, I too have overlooked the foothills. This was my chance to rectify this oversight. I saw nothing online that detailed the route I took, but there are trail maps that include the exact route that I took. I used these maps to create a semi-loop within the front range. In the process, I also proved that these old trails are still there, waiting for more hikers to discover them.
