This is the first remix for The Fighter Within album that I just started. This album will be an assortment of remixes I’m working on from many fighting games.

I actually didn’t get to play the Darkstalkers/Vampire series years after its initial release as I had no access to any of the games when I was younger. But I had always known the character Morrigan Aensland in her many appearances in spinoffs such as the Marvel vs. Capcom series, Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium, and the Capcom vs. SNK series (please make a CvS3!). Besides being the attractive character she’s well known for, her character themes from MvC1 and Vampire Hunter/Night Warriors had always stuck with me all these years because of how catchy they were. For the remix, I wanted to create a sort of seductive and classy tone to reflect her tendency to cause mischief within the human world and her regal position within the demon realm. Unlike a lot of the remixes I’ve done in the past 2 years where I’ve been digging up ideas I had 7-8 years ago, I actually had the ideas for this remix within the past year. As soon as I finished The Guardian Legend Remix Album, I quickly worked on the remix for China Town from The Revenge of Shinobi and this remix while they were still fresh in my mind.

So there were rumors of Capcom possibly bringing back the Darkstalkers series, but nothing is confirmed or denied yet. I’m all for another Darkstalkers game, but I’d like to see an announcement for Capcom vs. SNK 3 more than anything from Capcom right now.
