Ayako Shirasaki - NY based jazz pianist, music educator.

Ayako Shirasaki has been playing the piano since the age of five. She began performing in jazz clubs at twelve, and has won numerous piano competitions in Japan and the United States.
Extremely versatile, she majored in classical piano at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and then earned her masters degree in jazz piano at the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Kenny Barron.

Today, Ayako performs regularly at many of NYC’s jazz clubs, as well as at concerts in Japan and Europe.

Ayako is the founder and director of the Sakura Music School in NYC, where she enjoys presenting music to students of all ages. In addition, she brings her teaching worldwide through online instruction.

Ayako has released five CDs, including her most recent trio album, “Some Other Time” .
