A pacing lead is placed in the left pericardiophrenic vein to pace the left hemidiaphragm for treatment of central sleep apnea using the Remede system. At times it can be difficult to locate & cannulate the pericardiophrenic vein which comes off the left subclavian. Injection of the vein draining the left hemidiaphragm often fills the pericardiophrenic vein retrograde which can be used to locate the origin from the subclavian.
