3 Dweezil Zappa Licks From 2006

Here's the next episode of Three-For-All with 3 Dweezil Zappa Licks From 2006. As I mention in the video, I've been a Dweezil Zappa fan since I was a teenager and used to watch MTV with my sister constantly - where Dweezil commonly appeared. After diving into his solo albums along with eventually getting into his father's music, when I look back I clearly remember he inspired me at a young age and I'm certain it was the Van Halen connection/influence I heard in his early music.

I also caught Dweezil in 2018 on his "Choice Cuts Tour" at The Vogue in Indy and it was phenomenal (to say the least). The band was on fire and Dweezil pulled out all of the stops and really sounded great. Their version of 'Sleep Napkins' was a big highlight that night. There was so much energy in the room from the band and the crowd - it was a truly great concert!

The ideas in this lesson came from an early "Zappa Plays Zappa" live concert in 2006, which also included Steve Vai as a special guest. The ideas in this lesson were pulled from a blazing headcuttin' duel between Dweezil and Vai and should be viewed by anyone that is remotely interested in either of these players - although we're exclusively targeting Dweezil's licks/ideas in this lesson. Needless to say, my jaw was on the floor the first time I watched this footage and it's VERY inspiring!
