Attorney general is the first law officer of the government of india.
The provision of attorney general is provided in article 76 of the constitution of india.
According to article 76(1) , the president of india appoints the attorney general and the qualification of attorney general is same as the qualification of a judge of a supreme court of india.
According to article 76(4) , the president of india removes the attorney general.
Rights of attorney general -
(1)- according to article 76(3), attorney general shall have right of audience in all courts in the territory of india
(2)-according to article 88, attorney general shall have right to speak, and to take part in the proceedings of either houses.
Duties of attorney general -
according to article 76(2), the duty of attorney general is to give legal advice to the government of india.
