**WARNING DOING THIS MAY CAUSE YOU NOT TO REALIZE THERE'S A PROBLEM SUCH AS OVERHEATING, OIL PRESSURE ISSUE OR LOW ON GAS OR CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS** DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! I watch my gauges so it doesn't bother me! What bothers me is the constant dinging my truck made!

If you're like me and sick of hearing your door chime, warning chime or seatbelt reminder chime in your 2004-2008 Ford F-150 (and possibly other models) I'm going to show you how to actually remove the speaker itself.

If you want a less intrusive disable of the seatbelt minder, it's simple as sitting in your truck with the door shut, put the parking brake on, turn your key to accessory on (no start) and let it sit there for about a minute until the seatbelt light goes off. Then push in and eject the seatbelt buckle 9 times. Once the light blinks, do it one more time and then turn your truck off. When you turn it back on you shouldn't have a belt-minder ding anymore but you'll still have all the other annoying chimes.

My truck has had the airbag light on since shortly after I purchased it 7 years ago. I've tried to DIY repairing it but it just needs to be reset by the dealer. So the procedure above wouldn't allow me to disable the seatbelt.

Then my gauges became defective as one of the LEDs on board went bad so I would get a series of 5 chimes 5 times in a row (25 total dings) every time I got going down the road and randomly about every 15-20 minutes after that. So I got sick of it and figured out how to actually remove the speaker since I hardly ever use this truck anymore and have no intention of ever selling it. It'll die with me and it'll become parts / scrap so. So I don't care about not having the chime anymore.
