Drum Hack: Paper Towel Muter Drum Hack.

This DIY hack is one that I got from my good friend Isra a long time ago!

This particular drum hack is one I have been using ever since I had more than one snare drum in my arsenal.

To ensure that the snare wires on drums that I’m not using don’t rattle and make noise, I take a stripe of a paper towel and wedge it in between the snare side head and wires.

The paper towel stays in the drum because the throw-off is engaged to ensure that the paper towel will not fall out while other drums are in use.

What’s great about this hack is that you don’t specifically need it to be a paper towel.

It can be any object thin enough to fit in between a snare side drum head and the wires.

The reason why you don’t want to get something too thick is that you don’t want to end up bending the wires in a way that would cause them to get messed up.

But don’t shy away from being creative with this hack, and find something unique to you.
