In Suikoden II, if you have Badeaux's Listening Crystals, when you take a separate trip through the Tinto Mine, you can use a Listening Crystal to recruit Abizboah the Octopus. However, if you talk to resident Private Investigator Richmond and continue to press him, he'll tell you that Abizboah has a wife! If you go back to Tinto Mine in the exact same place you recruited Abizboah, you can also recruit Abizboah's wife, Rulodia. However, beware! If you recruit Rulodia, it will use a Listening Crystal, but the catch is Rulodia DOES NOT count as a Star of Destiny, meaning if you recruit her, you are locked out of getting the best ending the game! If you want to do this anyway, and get Richmond to investigate Rulodia, you'll also find out that the have a baby octopus together! Make your way down to the docks at your HQ, and you'll find the little baby octopus running around. Chase the baby around until he runs over to the area where you fish where you see a "heartwarming" scene, where the Octopus Family reunites, and the baby Chuchara will also join he party, and is also NOT a Star of Destiny! I don't know what they were thinking here...Suikoden II is a buggy mess, but as far as I can tell this was an intentional design choice...Chuchara has no special abilities in battle, nor any useful information if investigated by Richmond. The mind boggling nature of this situation could have been avoiding if Chuchara at the very least was considered a Star of Destiny, which would make it so you could still get the best ending. I don't anticipate this being changed in the Remaster either. Is there something I'm missing?
