Ecological management of rainwater : Ecological engineering & aquatic environments

Описание к видео Ecological management of rainwater : Ecological engineering & aquatic environments

This video was produced by Astee’s working group on ecological engineering applied to aquatic environments. It presents the multiple benefits that can be derived from ecological engineering.
The multi-benefit nature of these projects is illustrated through four examples of ecological engineering actions regarding :

• river restoration and flood protection
• ecological management of rainwater
• the improvement of water quality in peri-urban areas
• the creation of habitats in harbours

In aquatic environments, ecological engineering can contribute to reconciling several objectives within a single project and thus provide several benefits. It participates in nature-based solutions that rely on healthy, resilient, functional and diversified ecosystems to respond to the effects of global change.
