Kendraka is an internationally famous Ethno jazz /Alt Jazz band that has been performing original compositions of Bass Player /Composer Mainak "Bumpy" Nag Chowdhury from 2009
Kendraka 3.19 is a new trio of Bumpy with his creation, the one and only double neck 25 string Maitrayee Bass, Subhagat Singha on Guitars and Gaurab Chatterjee on drums.
This Ehtno Jazz or Alt Jazz trio performs compositions that are inspired from the Indian Classical system. Bumpy heavily leans towards the Hindustani and Carnatic Classical aspects of his Indian origin for song writing and Bass Playing.
Here is a composition of Bumpy which has been recently taught as a part of a program called "Face The Music" by Brooklyn Raga Massive, NYC. Face The Music is program where high school students interested in Music were taught compositions of contemporary India composers on improvised music or modern jazz.
