She was always such a good girl
never had a mind to do bad
'Til one day it became too much
and she broke down, got mad
She put together one big plan
to stick it to the man
Bought a gun, cased a joint,
she just didnt give a damn

She put on pearls, a cocktail dress
stepped in the bank and said, I must confess
Im robbing you so put em up,
Ive killed for less
She didnt see the hero
til it was much too late
He knocked the gun out of her hand
and said, girl it aint your day

They brought her in in handcuffs
she did her best to act tough
But her faith was just not strong enough
and they knew she was scared

She heard as she made for the door

She got out of that awful place,

Lying in the hospital bed,

She recovered from her surgery
went to court to make them see
She didnt have to back her plea
the judge took one look and set her free
What the hero didnt know,
nor the judge who let her go
Was that I was there to do the job too
