The Cure - Friday I'm in Love (Leppardized Guitar Cover)

Описание к видео The Cure - Friday I'm in Love (Leppardized Guitar Cover)

It's probably sacrilege to cover The Cure in a Leppardized fashion, as the clip at the end maybe nods to why. Whether Robert is serious or just joking, I still love both bands! I think Steve Clark could fit in easily doing cool guitar in this style. Anyway, this is my favourite track from The Cure, and I think they have a unique sound that still would fit today. I of course would struggle to get that 'jangle' sound so I hope a somewhat lame Leppardized cover will suffice. I basically just doubled up on the parts already there, but with a different tone. Hope you enjoy!

I had to tune the track a bit to get it in standard. Apparently, there’s a story about why, due to Robert playing with a ‘varispeed’ machine.

'Leppardized' is my way of adding interesting guitar parts to a song that has little to no guitar in it, in an attempt to make it more like the Hysteria era of Def Leppard. Although really it is just an excuse for me to play over pop. :)

I use a Charvel DK24 (it's purple) into a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X.

My headphones are purposely like that so the cable stays out the way.

I have a Patreon where I upload my notation notes for all my new covers and I am going through my old ones too. But I also provide custom notation and video lessons content there or at my [email protected] address. Please get in touch if you want help playing the music you love.   / bwm5150
