AMAZING Schindler Miconic 10 Traction Elevators @ Sheraton Hotel, New Orleans, LA

(Filmed on 3/24/19). Four years ago, Jason (Airtranlover) visited this hotel to ride their Schindler Miconic 10 elevators. Since I've never filmed a Miconic 10 and happened to be staying in New Orleans for the next couple days, I decided to head over to the French Quarter and stop by this hotel. This hotel contains both passenger & service elevators.

The passenger elevators are split between two banks: the low-rise bank serving floors *1-29 and the high-rise bank serving floors *1-8 & 29-49. The service elevators, though, serve all the floors. The passenger elevators run smoothly & look really nice. However, the floor indicator on one of the high-rise elevators seems to be messed up as it was stuck on displaying "2" during the whole ride up. Must be its favorite number, LOL!!! Also, during the ride down on another high-rise elevator, the indicator seems to skip from 8 to 5 even though it serves floors 6 & 7.

After riding the passenger elevators, I then was able to ask to ride the service elevators. The guy who lead me to the service happens to be the head of security at this hotel. However, before we rode up to the top, he then told me that I wasn't allowed to take pictures of anything within the service corridors. He didn't necessarily tell me to turn off the camera on my iPhone XR, so I just secretly kept filming since there aren't a lot of recordings of the service elevators.

Based on his weirded-out expression, it also seemed like he never received a request from someone asking if they could film/ride the service elevators. I had a slight feeling that they might be original Westinghouses, but it turns out they're Schindler Miconic 10 as well as the passengers. Overall, I'm glad I was able to stop by here and film some Schindler Miconic 10's for the first time.
