How to Create a Shabby Chic Look with Fusion™ Mineral Paint

Описание к видео How to Create a Shabby Chic Look with Fusion™ Mineral Paint

In this video, Jennylyn shows you how to update your kitchen or bathroom cabinets with a Shabby Chic look using Fusion™ Mineral Paint. This technique is really easy to complete and fun to mix colours with!

First, make sure your cabinets are clean! Our TSP is a great product to remove dirt and grease from your cabinets.

Next, you can start painting! Jennylyn uses Chocolate as her first paint colour to give the base an antique or wood-like feel. She painted two coats, allowing 4 hours between each coat for dry time. She then waited 8-12 hours before the next step.

Using our Beeswax Finish, you can create a resist layer that will help you achieve a really natural looking distressed look.

After the Beeswax, Jennylyn uses Raw Silk as a second colour since it has amazing coverage and is a very authentic looking off-white. Jennylyn uses a synthetic angled brush because it is easy to get into the corners and edges, and easy to smooth across a flat surface like these shaker-style cabinets. Jennylyn uses two coats of Raw Silk to get full coverage.

After the paint is fully dry, Jennylyn uses a wet distressing technique. The paint comes off really easy where the Beeswax was applied and the all over distress gives a very natural look and makes a super smooth finish.
