In this mini story, we get to see how Hisui developed the idea of "starter" Pokémon for promising new trainers. With a little help from a shiny pink monkey.

For background, I started a writing challenge about a couple months ago to write a 5-minute fic for each shiny I found in Legends: Arceus. The original plan was for the stories to stand alone with some connections between them. I've now established that Pecharunt will be the thread that ties them all together. Because it was downright eerie how well this Pokémon's lore fit with the backstory I'd already planned. ^_^;;

Chapters 1, 2 and 3 set up Indigo up on his quest, while the later chapters dive into Spiritomb's history with Pecharunt.
