How to keep OUTSIDE worms bins warm in cold Winters

   / @plantobsessed   This 40 gallon bin that was my outside worm compost bin - I am trying to set it up to hot compost a little this winter to keep the worms warm. This is the first time I have tried this type of winter preparation.

   • Outside compost worm bins  
It has 1/4-inch /6mm holes in the bottom, sides and top. Started outside in June 2021. I started the bin with about a pound of mixed species compost worms red wigglers, blue worms and European night crawlers I took from another system. It was run outside from June 6 until I brought it inside in end of November 2021. It went back outside in 2022 and now it will over winter this time outside.
