IJS was inaugurated on 10th. July 2011, at Sarvajan Mandir, Alabama, USA.

It has been officially inaugurated now on 29th December 2013 at Jagannath temple premises, KIIT, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The head office of India Branch (Bharat) was inaugurated on 4th January 2014 at the grand road (Bada Danda), Srikshetra , Puri.

Efforts are being made to open the offices in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kanyakumari, Chennai, Hyderabad etc. The main objectives of the IJS is to spread the message of Lord Jagannath, the lord of the universe which is universal fraternity,amity,equality,respect for all faiths and beliefs, tolerance respect for all the people beyond the confines of color, race and nationalities and the motto is is one global family (vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) Lord Jagannath is the Param Brahman, the supreme
consciousness and He is inseparable from individual personalities (atman). He loves all and hates none. He is all inclusive. In fact the four images (Chaturdha murti) are only symbols. It is impossible to give a size and shape to Brahman. He is infinite and all pervasive.

The two days' colloquium and devotees conclave at Bhubaneswar was attended by devotees coming from remote corners of Odisha like Boudh and Koraput, big cities like Delhi and Mumbai from the West like California and London.

It was attended by rich and poor, Kings and Clerks, Diplomats and Sannyasis etc. About 750 people attended the seminar. As the participants remarked it was a grand success. The next annual seminar will be held in one of the major cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai or elsewhere in2014. It would be an annual event towards the end of the year in some country.
