Second Front: Recon in Force (Battle of Crucifix Hill)

Watch me fumble around in an early playthru of the Second Front American mission 'Recon in Force' - the Battle for Crucifix Hill near Aachen where I fight the Germans and the Random Number Generator.

Second Front is a weird game and I feel like its very light in the realism department. It's a game that is very reliant on random number generation for combat results (and nothing else) - it's much different than wargames I grew up with like Close Combat, Combat Mission, and even more recent iterations of Battle Academy.

It's nearly impossible to mass fires against the enemy since there is no compounded firepower applied to units, just simple, individual engagements with RNG. It's a very odd design.

"Crowd Culling" is also a weird game mechanic - Units will always operate better apart than together (which is opposite of how you'd fight in real life). So its more like a mass Squad-attack than a platoon attack. Very odd feel to it.
