My name is Katrina Burrus, I'm an executive coach. I look around the world for leaders that are brilliant have a high IQ but a low EQ, or global nomadic leaders that travel around the world for the countries and I also help high potentials transition more effectively and quickly into new positions into new transitions.

[Interviewer] Ok, and can you tell me how important is for a person to have international experience?

I think HSBC is in a very good position. They have done tremendous publicity about cultural understanding and misunderstanding. I think the position that it's extremely important. First, with increase of globalization and the acceleration of change, we need leaders that are global mindset and that are culturally diverse.

[Interviewer] Okay, and how will you see the leadership nowadays?

The leadership nowadays, I think, learning agility is critical and cultural sensitivity is also critical. As I mentioned during the Woby keynote, it's not the business drivers that derail leaders, it is because they don't fit with the culture or the subculture. So that is key, cultural sensitivity. The other thing is, I think, more and more leaders need to be more open, less authoritarian, because they need to listen more to the environment. If you're a Mexican that works in Mexico and that does business in Mexico, you can use intuition. But if you're a Mexican that sells US cars in China, you need to be observant, you need to have cultural
and leadership agility to be able to do business well. And I think HSBC has really made that point in their publicity.
