Описание к видео Vardarian: March of the Mercenaries, Combat Enhancement

Combat System has been greatly improved, and almost finished, just need to add moral and stamina modifiers and effects. All the different ways of abilities can interact with the environment has been built into the engine so making new abilities only takes me a few minutes (same goes for units and terrain). Hitting enter now end your turn.

There were 2 large changes to the UI. First being the hp bars under every unit. The second being the higher quality unit images. I am now using images from Battle for Wensoth published under the GNU General Public License.

Damage calculations are fairly simple, It is (attack - armor) * any multipliers. Currently it all ways rounds up, so 1.00001 damage = 2.

Abilities units have are listed at the bottom of the side menu. Anything their listed as an effect, is an effect caused by a different unit's ability. Here are a list of abilities shown off in the video and some general information about them:

Volley - When attacking a unit that has all ready been attacked by a unit with volley this unit revives +1 attack for each unit that attacked target unit with volley this turn. So if 3 archers attacked a unit before this archer, it gets +3 damage.

Longweapons - This units deal 200% damage vs mounted units, and 75% damage vs un-mounted units.

OffensiveLeadership - Friendly units in range 2 get +1 attack. (note it was bugged in the video giving enemies +1 attack too). Yes i know it needs a better name lol.

Shieldbearer - Friendly units with shieldbearer within range 1 revive, +1 armor.

Mounted - mounted doesn't really do anything, but it effects how the unit interacts with the world. Terrain, and other units weapons will effect this unit different. A different example of this will be a units races, i.e. elfs exceeding in forest combat.


Terrain also effects combat greatly. As you may of noticed range units having longer range on hills, and units in water taking large amounts of damage. Here are a few of the terrain effects.(note multipliers happen after armor reduces incoming damage)

Forest:
120% melee attack - 75% for mounted
90% melee damage received - 115% for mounted
90% range attack - 80% for mounted
60% range damage received - 75% for mounted
-2 movement for mounted

Hill
75% melee damage received - 100% for mounted
115% range attack
+1 range

+1 movement for mounted
125% melee attack for mounted

Shallow Water
75% melee attack
200% melee damage received
75% range attack
200% range damage received
