Turret Placement - In relation to sci-fi ship design in Space Engineers, Empyrion and Avorion.

Описание к видео Turret Placement - In relation to sci-fi ship design in Space Engineers, Empyrion and Avorion.

A video that goes into some basic detail regarding the importance of good turret placement in games like Space Engineers, Empyrion: Galactic Survival and Avorion, as well as some of the common mistakes made by some of the more inexperienced content creators, in particular:

1. Turret Spam - In other words, getting a little carried away with the sheer amount of turrets on your ship, this is more of an issue in games like Space Engineers where there's no large turrets and no realistic munitions storage.

2. Space is an Ocean - The worrying tendency of many content creators to give their spacecraft the characteristics of old ocean going naval vessels, such as adding of bridges instead of CIC's, and putting almost all their turrets on one side.

3. Ignoring the evolution of big guns and superfiring turrets - The focus of putting too many guns on the same plane, restricting their firing arcs to only a few directions. Also includes the tendency of some content creators to ignore the larger more powerful weapons and stick to smaller ones (or to avoid building player made weapons in Space Engineers).

Remember that this video only covers turret placement. Videos covering missile weaponry, fixed weaponry (including spinal mounts and broadsides) or ship design can be found elsewhere, therefore these topics are considered beyond the scope of this video and thus will not be discussed.
