Ptarmigan Tunnel and Ptarmigan Lake Trail- Glacier National Park

Ptarmigan Tunnel and Ptarmigan Lake Trail gave us some wonderful views of West Glacier. While there was plenty of fog at the tunnel, the rest of the trail showed us a waterfall with a nice crossing, plenty of wildlife, a variety of landscape and even gave us the opportunity to check out a second trail to Iceberg Lake.

Glacier National Park is beautiful, and Many Glacier has plenty to offer. The hike begins outside of Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, which provides plenty of convenience items for purchase. From this area of the park you can take off on a few other trails including Grinnell Glacier Trail, Iceberg Lake, and Swiftcurrent Trail. If you're up to pay the price, you can even take advantage of some horse stables in the area.

We went camping at Many Glacier Campground, which was awesome. Typically this campground is filled up and has a line outside, we were lucky to get in because we showed up at the beginning of the winter season. This meant that the campgrounds were dealt with on a first-come-first-served basis.
