In both areas, trash is collected three times a week, with recycling once. DSNY is a truly special and unique operation, perhaps best evidenced by the fact that Mack, Heil, McNeilus, and now Labrie build such highly customized trucks for them, complete with short bodies to park in garages, an unmistakable light bar, exhaust diffuser, spot mirrors, and much more.
