Donald Trump has vowed to remain on the national stage “in some form” as he touted his administration’s achievements ahead of Joe Biden being officially sworn in as his successor.

Mr Trump delivered his final speech as president at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland to a crowd of family, staff and supporters.

Mr Trump praised his administration’s achievements and highlighted his efforts to build up the military, reduce taxes and regulations, produce a COVID-19 vaccine and elect hundreds of judges throughout the nation.

“What we’ve done has been amazing, by any standard,” he told supporters chanting “we love you” in the background.

“I will always fight for you. I will be watching. I will be listening. And I will tell you that the future of this country has never been better”.

Mr Trump wished the new Biden Administration “great luck and great success” over the next four years.

“They have the foundation to do something really spectacular.”

He brought the speech to a close saying “We love you. We will be back in some form.”
