Over a decade ago, a group of artists and administrators came together to generate new opportunities for creativity in the St. Louis area in hopes of attracting more artistic people to the region. This group came to be known as Critical Mass for the Visual Arts, and we will meet some of them and hear about their latest initiatives. Critical Mass for the Visual Arts is a collaborative of artists dedicated to promoting, enhancing, and initiating contemporary visual art in the St. Louis region. The Critical Mass event, Homegrown for the Visual Arts is on Friday night, October 18th at 3-3-4-6 Texas Avenue. There's going to be a silent auction, live music, DJs, a bonfire, s'mores, and of course the chicken coop showdown. Visit the Critical Mass website or call them for more details.
