World Head and Neck Cancer Day with David Jamieson

A 60 year old father of three, David Jamieson is a broadcaster at TSN1260 radio in Edmonton and has had a long career as an executive in professional sports and media. Dave originally hails from the streets of Vancouver and spent 14 years as the Edmonton Eskimos Director of Marketing, Communications and Broadcast as well as President of the Edmonton Rush

Dave is now navigating the many challenges of a life with cancer.

While shaving he discovered an 'abnormality' on the left side of his neck in May 2021 and shortly after was diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer. Dave underwent surgery July 30th to remove the tumour, followed by 30 sessions of head/neck radiation treatments. He looks forward to the day he's declared "cancer free" but until then calls himself "cancer adjacent".
