Did you know a Dark Lord nearly destroyed the Sith Order from within?

Darth Gravid was a human Dark Lord of the Sith who lived almost 500 years after Darth Bane established the Rule of Two. Gravid came to believe the Sith Order’s downfall would be their complete devotion to the dark side of the Force. He began to incorporate the Jedi concepts of kindness and empathy into his teachings and practices.

Gravid began to lose his sanity as he tried to serve two masters - the Light and the Dark. He came to the conclusion that hiding or destroying the Sith relics would allow him to lead the Sith Order along a more prosperous path.

533 years before the Battle of Yavin, Gravid began destroying all the Sith artifacts, holocrons and tomes in his possession.

His apprentice, Darth Gean, intervened to stop her master. During their duel, Gravid cut off one of her arms at the shoulder as well as severing the left side of her face and chest. Despite her injuries, Gean overpowered her master and killed him.

Before his death, Gravid was able to destroy the majority of Sith artifacts, effectively setting the Sith Grand Plan back hundreds of years.
