THEY RESCUE HORSES, DON'T THEY? is a dramatic short film abou t
decisions, good and bad, and how we may still have choices even in the
aftermath of a desperate decision.

Aubrey, a teenage girl whose mother died years ago of an overdose, lives
in the small-town milieu of opioid abuse and frequent overdoses. Her
school has trained the students how to administer nasal Naloxone to
reverse the effects of overdose. Aubrey's a kid with a loving father, raised
around horses and dogs, a kid involved in horse rescue fundraising efforts,
a kid afraid of drugs and their dangerous possibilities. Her bff Nikki is not
so aware, distracted by social media, and not so cautious.

We follow the girls on a single fateful day in the summer when they both
must wrestle with the consequences of choices they make.
