What If...? We Are Witnessing Actual HISTORY | A Baseball Numbers Story

Описание к видео What If...? We Are Witnessing Actual HISTORY | A Baseball Numbers Story

Feels like Brooks Robinson is the consensus best defensive third baseman EVER. 16 straight Gold Gloves?? That's crazy! But what if I told you that one player right now has gotten off to a better start to his career than even Brooks? And maybe the best start defensively by a third baseman in Baseball History...

In this video we break down the defensive stats for Ke'Bryan Hayes of the Pittsburgh Pirates! Using Baseball Reference, Fangraphs, and Baseball Savant we are able to get a few different perspectives on how great Hayes has been in his young career, while comparing him to other excellent defensive third basemen in baseball history! And who are we comparing him to? A group of defensive wizards themselves in Brooks Robinson, Adrian Beltre, Matt Chapman, Manny Machado, Evan Longoria, and my personal favorite Nolan Arenado...

Because IF Ke'Bryan Hayes can stay healthy, AND keep up his current pace? He could end up as not just one of the best defensive third basemen, but one of the best defenders in all of baseball history!

Do you think Hayes will pass Brooks? Who is your favorite defensive Third Baseman in baseball history? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for watching! I appreciate you all!
