Gilbert Vinter (1909-1969) wrote his cornet solo "Mattheson's Air after Johann Mattheson (1681-1764) who was a great friend of Handel and himself a renowned composer and organist in Germany.

The solo is played here by Brian Taylor, principal cornet of the world famous Williams Fairey Engineering Band. This recording was made in 1993.
