공릉동 철길공원 - Walking on Gongneung-dong Gyeongchun Line Forest Park, Seoul, Korea

Although the Gyeongchun Line (Railroad) Forest shut down all operations in December 2010, the 6.3-km portion from Kwangwoon Univ. Station to the old Hwarangdae Station was transformed into the “Gyeongchun Line (Railroad) Forest Park” through the Seoul Urban Regeneration Project and reopened as a resting area for citizens. The Forest offers exploration programs through the Gyeongchun Line (Railroad) Forest trail. Additionally, the “Gyeongchun Line Healing Rest Area” was recently open to the public free of charge in order to revitalize the village community in the Gongneung-dong area. The Gyeongchun Line (Railroad) Forest trail that stands along the old railway is great for leisurely walks and is also a popular spot to view the cherry blossoms, as a place where the start of spring can be seen.
