First Sunday of Lent

Today’s Gospel brings us into the desert with Jesus.

On this first Sunday of Lent, we see Him willingly enter the wilderness and face temptation and suffering. The desert was not a place of abandonment. It was a place of surrender, strength, and deep trust in the Father.

When you face adversity or struggle, those very places may be where God is working most closely within you. Christ’s perseverance reminds us that by trusting in God’s plan, we can find hope instead of despair and courage in moments of weakness.

As Padre Pio reminds us, “The spirit of God is a spirit of peace.” Even in our struggles, God works gently within us, drawing us closer to Him.
