Here’s a step-by-step guide to my illustration creation process.

I’m excited to start the Year off with a BIG illustration, here’s The Dark One. He’s the primary antagonist of HELL: Legends, a being of immense power who stands at the center of the game’s narrative and visual identity.

Featured both as a card illustration and a physical standee, this character also appears on the game’s cover art.

Visually, The Dark One is designed to dominate the scene - towering, brutal, and godlike. Blood magic is a key element of his character.

The composition focuses on power and intimidation: a low-angle perspective, aggressive lighting, and a restrained yet fiery color palette enhance his presence and reinforce his role as the final villain. Every design choice - from anatomy and silhouette to armor details - was made to ensure instant readability at card size while remaining impactful at a large scale.
