Kate MacLeod will be bringing her original music inspired by the region of Utah to the Excellence in the Community Concert series. This concert will celebrate the release of this music in a new recording, Uranium Maiden.
Kate is a dynamic and versatile Americana musician, songwriter, fiddle player, and composer. Since her first recording, her songs have been recorded by other artists from California to the Czech Republic. Kate has toured in the United States, Canada, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and the UK. She was chosen for the Best of the West Award, 2019, by the Far-West division of the Folk Alliance International. In addition, she received the 2019 Alfred Lambourne Friends of the Great Salt Lake Award for an original violin duet.
Performing with Kate will be Mark Hazel on guitar and vocals, Mandy Danzig on mandolin and vocals, Mary Danzig on violin and vocals, Jim Stout on acoustic bass, and Bob Smith on drums. Additional special guests will be announced at the concert.
