Kaufman takes us on a deep dive into the causes and intensifiers of Neuro-Crashes, a term coined by Raun and Kate C. Wilde for what happens when environment or circumstance overwhelms the brain, causing coping mechanisms to shut down. Neuro-Crashes - and the sometimes-explosive behaviors they precipitate - are not the fault of our loved ones on the autism spectrum. Rather, they are caused when the situation imposed from the outside makes it impossible for them to function on the inside.
