//THE STORY BEHIND THE DEHUMIDIFIER

If you live in an old, damp and dusty house like I do, you'll have noticed how excess moisture in the air lingers and makes everything feel clammy. Coupled with that musty smell of wet soil under the expanding floorboards, and oh what's that I see?.. Mould is growing all over the shoes in my bottom draw, it's under the bed, it's behind the couch and on the windowsills too! And why does my bath towel never feel dry? Gross.

It's a ventilation problem. When someone has a shower a lot of that hot steamy air floats into the bedrooms instead of out the bathroom window. And when I've got clothes in the dryer the hot wet air seems to travel out of the laundry door and up the staircase, steaming up the living room. And when it rains, oh forget it, there's a river of water that tracks under our 100 year old house where there should most likely be a storm water drain.

Heaters don't help. If it's mid winter in fact heaters just make things worse because the moist hot air condenses on the window panes and can't escape. The moist air needs to get sucked out somehow so this DeLonghi Dehumidifier has been a godsend.

Coupled with the moisture problem, my three year old son suffers from respiratory problems, asthma, and has an allergy to dust mites. So the Delonghi Dehumidifier with in-built anti-bacterial air filter has really helped clear the air in his room and reduce allergens that cause coughs and sneezing like; mould spores, dust, pollen and pet dander.
