Описание к видео AARESCHLUCHT/AARE GORGE - HASLITAL BY MEIRINGEN SWITZERLAND

In Haslital bei Meiringen the Aare River has cut a gorge in the limestone that is 200 metres deep in some places. It is easy to hike through the entire gorge to the walkways and tunnels. Here you will see an impressive display of the power of water. Over thousands of years, the river has carved out a deep bed in the limestone. The Aare Gorge between Meiringen and Innertkirchen is nearly 200 metres deep and barely more than a metre wide at its narrowest point. The fascinating, narrow canyon is the result of hard limestone formations, dubbed the “Kirchet”, which hindered the flow of the Aare from the Grimsel region. The 1.4 kilometre long path through this captivating gorge is an easy 40-minute walk. The nicest parts of Aare Gorge, from the western entrance to the middle of the gorge, are disability friendly and wheelchair accessible.
