Скачать или смотреть North Yorkshire Moors Railway: Annual Steam Gala: 27th of September 2024

Three years after visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in 2021, I returned to the railway in September 2024 for their Annual Steam Gala event, which took place between the 26th and 29th of September.

In addition to a selection of the railway's regular fleet in operation, three visitors were drafted to bring attention to the event: ex-USATC/PKP S160 no. ‘2253, Omaha’, which effectively used the occasion as a pretext for transferring from the Dartmouth Steam Railway to the line, as it’s scheduled for conversion from coal to oil firing over the winter; ex-Southern/BR rebuilt West Country no. ‘34028, Eddystone’ made the trip from the Swanage Railway; and, while ex-GWR/BR Castle no. ‘4079, Pendennis Castle’ was originally set to attend, it developed a fault shortly before the event, leading to ex-GWR/BR Hall no. ‘4953, Pitchford Hall’ being drafted in at the last minute.

Due to this video’s length, it has been broken down into ‘Chapters’ where certain parts of the video have been labelled correspondingly. Here, you can choose which parts of the video you want to watch without having to search the entire feature.
LS = Lineside; all shots taken from stations and vantage points.
WS = Windowside; all shots taken from the droplights of passenger trains. The locomotive/s hauling it will be added too.

Overall, another great event put on by the railway on an already interesting route. What wasn't great was my camcorder deciding to malfunction just before the first train departure from Pickering; thankfully, it sorted itself out, so no big problem.
