🗺️ Five years ago, we set out to connect every town and city in Britain with walking routes.

✅ Thanks to volunteers across Britain we’ve already mapped 140,000km of routes and helped thousands of people to walk more and discover new places.

🚀 We’ve proven the idea. Now it’s time to take it to the next level.

We’re building a beautiful, easy-to-use online platform that makes finding great routes simple for everyone - whether you walk, run, cycle, scoot, skate, ride a horse, or use a pushchair or wheelchair.

We’ll empower people and groups to share the best routes, connecting every town, city, village, postcode, park, beach, shop, and hilltop in the process.

It will be more than just a website – Slow Ways is a people-powered network for health, climate, joy, friendship and so much more.

What if Slow Ways benefitted 100 times more people? Why not?

HOW?
The platform will empower local schools, charities, councils and community groups to build their own networks.

Imagine a school sharing nature-rich, family-friendly routes for parents and students. Then the next school does the same. Soon, we’ve created a national walking network for children and families - built from the ground up.

And what if other groups and organisations did the same for their communities?

HOW WE'RE DIFFERENT
We love OS Maps, Strava, Komoot and the outdoor navigation gang. We use them ourselves – but nobody's doing everything we're doing.
