Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex led an all-star line up of international music and film stars to raise money and call for equity of COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

The pre-taped outdoor stadium fundraising concert was broadcast and streamed globally on Saturday.

Meghan, who is expecting her second child, acted as a campaign chair of the event to support the global vaccination effort with Prince Harry.

In her speech the Duchess, who quit as a senior royal last year to live in California, claims the pandemic has "disproportionately affected" women across the globe.

She claims Covid has wiped out a generation of progress for women during her first TV appearance since her Oprah interview.

Speaking via video message, she said: "The past year has been defined by communities coming together tirelessly and heroically to tackle Covid-19. We’ve gathered tonight because the road ahead is getting brighter.
