In 1979 Texas Instruments confidently introduced its entry into the appliance personal computer market dominated by Commodore, Apple, and Tandy. The TI-99 had a faster and more sophisticated microprocessor, superior graphics, and a large library of the most popular games. But the TI-99 was ultimately a failure that bled the company almost dry, forcing Texas Instruments to abandon the TI-99 and the PC market forever. Join us in this episode to find out what happened.
