PONY x Acht Amsterdam M100 collaboration is inspired on the history between New York and Amsterdam, since PONY is a New York brand and Acht is Amsterdam based. New York City's original name is New Amsterdam. A 17th-century Dutch colonial settlement that served as the capital of New Netherlands. It was later renamed by the British colonial settles as New York City. Today the Dutch heritage remains, not only trough street names but also is reflected in the New Yorker's mentality and principally through the colours of the city's sport clubs like the Mets and the Knicks. The Knicks even owe thanks for their name to the Dutch; Knicks being short for knicker-bocker old Dutch for short pants. Many New Yorkers may not realize this but their Dutch heritage lives on in the blue and orange colours their teams wear. PONY and Acht highlight this historical memory by creating this extremely limited edition of the M100 in the historic colours of New York's Dutch forefathers.

Acht Amsterdam was founded in 2006, out of passion for sneakers and basketball. Acht is the sneaker boutique with basketball influences, which sets the tone of street fashion in Amsterdam.
