Описание к видео Garbago Competition - Runs by Ze-Rax | Shootmania Obstacle

Hello YouTube,
Look who it is: it's me, I'm actually still alive. :)

These are my best runs (and atempts) on the "Shootmania Obstacle Garbago Competition". This competetion is about finishing as much of the 40 maps shown in the video as possible. The maps are of different styles: Some are just hard and require skill, some are totally random and lucky, some are just utter garbage (looking at you, Lester!). The times you get doesn't really matter (tho it might grant you some neat bragging rights ;) ). If you wanna give it a shot yourself, the competetion technically is still running as of today. Just join the server "Garbago Competition" from the Obstacle Titlepack. For my part, I already kinda gave up and I'm happy with my score. But the countless hours of grinding (and mostly respawning) on these maps were themost fun I had in Shootmania for a long time... which is kinda sad, thinking about it. :)

For the video: Well, It's safe to say that I put too much effort into this. Making a 17 minutes long video like this gets pretty exhausting. Especially making the overlays for 40 maps gets really repetetive and at some point I just wanted to get over with it. I rendered everything in 1920x960@120fps for the highest quality motion blur I could achieve without going fully over the top (a good example for the motional blur can be seen on #14 in the first person scene when the player is falling through the offzone)... too bad taht the rendering in Maniaplanet left me with a projectsize of 291GB, needless to say that editing was a pain, since I don't have the hardware nor the diskspace to have a smooth experience. (*cough* Editing software bugged a lot and was overwhelmed, only a i7 4790k@4Ghz and 16GB of DDR3 RAM with the project laying on an external USB3.0 Drive which would go into sleep mode every few minutes if I'm not working with the files (reading/writing)... can I have some sympathy, please?)
But in the end I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out.

I tried to focus a bit more on custom cameras to make the video a bit interesting, but the main part had to do be in first person of course for obvious reasons. I used custom cameras for the mapintroductions to get a good looking view of the map. Sadly I did the cameras before thinking about how and where I wanna add the details text, so that overlay kinda destroyed the look of some of these cameras, especially on #15 for example. But I didn't want to go readjust and rerender the video again, that would have been too much work in the end.
Additionally I used some custom cameras in the middle of a run when the music allowed it and the map got kinda repetetive (#1, #13, #25 ,#31, ...).
I'm also really proud how the transition from #13 to #14 turned out... I hope someone will notice that it's the same camera. :)

In the end I can just say that I had quite some fun playing Garbago and I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did creating it.
Thank you to the Garbago team and the mappers and thank you everyone for watching.
