The recording of this suite (published Rome, c.1655) was left incomplete during the lockdowns (2020-2021) and was subsequently completed in May 2024.

Richard MacKenzie is a sought-after soloist and collaborative artist on early and classical guitars, and lutes. His collaborations have included The Sixteen, The King’s Consort, The Hanover Band, Ex Cathedra, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The City Waites (dir. Lucie Skeaping), The Royal Opera House and Shakespeare’s Globe (seven productions and multiple workshops).
Since completing a degree in music at The Queen's College, University of Oxford, Richard has seen the release of multiple acclaimed solo albums including ‘Il Rossetto’, ‘The Parisian Delight’, ‘Tombeaux’ and ‘Tales from Louvain’, and the publication of his first musicological work. He has performed at every major British early music festival, and has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3's 'In Tune' and 'Lunchtime Concert' series on multiple occasions. Additionally, Richard has been broadcast alongside Andrew Marr on BBC Radio 4, and he has appeared on BBC Two's 'London Calling' with Jools Holland.
Richard enjoys teaching annually on the NORVIS and Higham Hall early music courses: directing singers and instrumentalists, accompanying lute songs and performing. Richard can also play and teach recorder, keyboards, clarinets and chalumeaux, in addition to academic music.
