Описание к видео TVK 2012: The Ceremony of the Sub-decree on the Mekong River Dolphin Protection Zone (Khmer)

TVK (National Televeision of Kampuchea) reports on the Ceremony of Dissemination of the Sub-decree on the Creation of the Mekong River Dolphin Managerial Protection Zone in Kampi, Kratie province. This event was hosted by the Commission for Dolphin Conservation, Development of the Mekong River Dolphin Eco-tourism Zone, the Fisheries Administration and WWF.

The event was attended by over 250 people and celebrated the approval of the area sub-decree banning the use of gillnets, fish cages and floating houses within a 180-kilometer safe zone by the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Sam Dech Hun Sen. Use of gillnets are recognized as a leading cause in the death of Irawaddy dolphins.
