“The Sound of Sunset” was created using VisionTone, a custom software that converts visual data into sound through algorithmic sonification.

Each image is analyzed for its color composition, brightness, contrast, and emotional tone. These qualities are transformed into audio parameters such as frequency, amplitude, and stereo position, producing a synthesized soundscape that mirrors the image’s visual energy as evolving tones.

In this piece, the warm gradients of the sunset translate into gentle low–mid frequencies and calm harmonic movement, while brighter regions contribute higher tones and lighter textures. The final sound was processed through amplitude envelopes, spectral smoothing, and spatial reverb to create a sense of depth and atmosphere.

VisionTone explores the intersection of art, sound design, and perception, transforming the act of seeing into an act of listening.
